I was going through the Rotten Tomatoes website and came across a section called "Halloween Costume Guide." One of the ideas was Jay and Silent Bob. Take a look at this write up:
Characters: Jay and Silent Bob
Movie: Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Scream 3, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II
What you'll need:
For Jay:
* Dark winter hat
* Dark colored trenchcoat
* T-shirt
* Jeans
* Long blonde hair
* Optional: Doobies
For Silent Bob:
* Backwards baseball cap
* Trenchcoat
* T-shirt
* Jeans
* Brown hair and goatee
* Big bones
* Optional: Doobie
As the perpetually stoned Greek chorus in many of Kevin Smith's films, Jay and Silent Bob turned hanging out in front of convenience stores into a raison d'etre. As such, it's not terribly difficult to replicate the look of New Jersey's finest sidewalk philosophers, though their hair might pose something of a problem. Nevertheless, a good dark trench coat can likely be found at your local thrift store, and the rest is probably in your wardrobe somewhere. Be forewarned, however: Silent Bob wears his hats backwards, and never says anything.
Classic line: "Snootchie-bootchies!"
Looking at the list under Silent Bob, I can see why I went as him a few years ago. Then, I saw the "big bones" part and I laughed a little inside.
