This might be as far south as we'll ever get. Arrived via Honolulu (rented a car & drove around part of the island) & Sydney, including the mandatory stop at
Sydney's version of Harry's, although this particular Harry's probably does not appeal to the jet-set crowd.
Spent parts of a couple days in the state archives researching my illustrious ancestors -- Thomas Quarry the lifer horsethief and his future bride Eliza Stilwell, an "insolent" criminal doing 14 years for crimes unknown. Have about 40 pages of prints from microfilms of ship's records, navy surgeons reports, disciplinary records, etc.
I've also survived about 350 km. driving on the wrong side of the road. This has to be the roadkill capital of western civilization.
Plus there was the usual party stuff with other frequent flyers. Tomorrow we are on to Melbourne for 4 days, then back to Sydney for a couple more days, then (*sigh*) home.
