Goemon, in dry clothes, approached the table after fixing himself a glass of water. He offered a smile of weary triumph in greeting, his bare feet rasping over the floorboards. "I thought I would find you here." He remarked as he sat himself on a stool, his lopsided grin knowingly broadening. The look vanished as he lifted his glass to his leathery-dry lips, drinking thirstily.

Companionable silence. Setting down his drink with a hard clack, he glanced at Jigen's whiskey with veiled interest. He would have welcomed a shot himself for the taste, if not to dull the ache in his ribs some, but resigned himself to gulping down water to counter the dehydrating effect of sea salt. Alcohol would only wring him out like a sponge.

Jigen nodded to Goemon with welcome. Another sip of the whiskey and... empty glass. Realizing he sat without the bottle, he stood and lazily made his way to the fridge. There was a wall dividing the kitchen and table, but it didn't dull his rough voice at all, "More water? Or should I get you a shot?"

Without Goemon's permission he grabbed a second shot glass and brought the bottle to the table. After pouring both of the small glasses full, he rested his elbow on the table and watched the drink closely from under the brim of his fedora. Something mysterious of how a small glass could numb any sort of pain... He took a small drink from it and set down the half-empty shot.

The bearded gunslinger sighed calmly while glancing toward the samurai and smirked. He had once again survived some life-threatening circumstance and found himself enjoying the moment of similar triumph.

He gazed at the proffered shot glass with an arched eyebrow, hesitating thoughtfully. "I heard that whiskey may be useful in calming an upset stomach." A hint of an amused smirk curled one corner of his mouth. It was not often when he turned down a casual drink; but today, for the sake of his churning stomach, he had to make an exception. "In the event that it does not... I do not wish to tempt fate."

Rising purposefully from his chair - his features momentarily tightening in a wince - he made for the kitchen himself, returning to the table with a one litre bottle of spring water. He left the bottle between them after pouring, mutely inviting Jigen to help himself if he had intentions of balancing his alcohol intake.

A smile escaped from the mention of fate. At this point, Jigen had to believe in something close to it. Miracles? Luck? Who knows. They were alive after all of these years though. Lupin had taken them on almost one too many adventures that nearly killed them. He drank to their miraculous luck, then poured the spring water into the same glass.

He leaned forward on his elbows, sudden realizing how wrecked his body felt after the Sea King event. He could close his eyes and sleep for days in just that moment. Then he was thirsty again. After a few more glasses of water and whiskey, he looked to Goemon with a smile, "Thanks." He looked back to his glass and filled it with the scotch.
