PJ pants make me happy. It was cold enough last night that I could finally switch to them and wear comfy, long, fun PJ pants instead of shorts. I love pj pants. I have way to many of them... but I keep on buying them anyway. :) The ones I wore last night were pink with black stars on them. They were Lark's and they still smelled like her house. That part made me sad.
It's funny how your sense of cold is relative to where you're from. When we first moved here from NY, we were wearing T shirts or very thin/light long sleeve shirts while others were walking around in winter coats and scarves. 60 degrees (which is just about as cold as it gets in LA, maybe a little colder at night, but not much) still seemed warm! Then I got acclimated and was freezing along with the rest of them any time it dipped below 70. Then I went to school in northern CA and got used to their cold (upper 30s-mid 50s), wet winters. And now I'm back here again and I can slowly feel myself slipping back to freezing at 60. Ah well.
I've had the week to get used to being in the office again. Boss lady was still out of state making the movie but she comes back this weekend. Assistant #2 flew out Wednesday to drive back with her (she's driving some of the wardrobe/props back). It's been nice to have the office to myself, especially since it's so quiet since everyone knows she's gone so they just call her cell instead of here. Plus, since my computer is old and has no burner, I've been able to trasfer a lot of songs to the office computer which does have a burner to make CDs and back up my ever-growing dowloaded music collection. I'm also able to watch TV/movies all day. Yesterday I watched an old episode of The Newlywed Game from the 70's. The grand prize? A 25" color TV! And 2 barkaloungers! Isn't it funny how technology changes things? Those prizes were big deals back then! 30 years later and I'm sitting here laughing at them.
Speaking of being in the office alone, all that will change next week. I no longer have my office from last winter/spring, as the movie that was paying to rent the space is done and this one can't afford another one. So, I'm back to sitting on the couch in boss lady's office. Except she HATES when you're just sitting there not doing anything, so in the past when we've been in this situation she's banished me to coffee houses and benches around the studio until they need me just so I'm out of her sight. If I'm lucky and she lets me stay, I'm still going to be bored out of my mind because the internet in here is mostly wireless, and I don't have a wireless card. I may have to get one soon, but I can't afford it right now. So... I'll be sitting here, reading books and maybe playing Sims for a few weeks 'till we get it all sorted out. Yay. :-P
How awesome was Grey's Anatomy? Not as good as last week, granted, but "Dammit! I want to feel like a lady!" was amazing! :D
I think I'm off to make some oatmeal for breakfast. Maple and Brown Sugar! Sounds good for a "cold" morning, don't you think? :)
