It seems stupid people can make a lot of money. Working at the airport, I deal a lot with airline agents. Airline agents get paid around $20 an hour, plus benefits. I guess 40k isn't really a huge salary, but it's significantly higher than what some of these agents should ever get. A new hire at Delta this week took about two 8 hour shifts to figure out how to work a bar-code scanner. Another veteran Delta agent doesn't understand how to set a program to filter arriving flights to show Delta flights (it's located under the View menu, filter option).

Is a college degree really all that, or am I just setting my standards too low during job-seeking periods?

In other news, I've mostly quit smoking cigarettes. I'm down from a pack a day to about two packs each week. I tried to cold turkey it successfully for about a week in early July, but have since crawled up to about four cigarettes each day with the occasional half-pack during a night out drinking with friends. The inspiration to quit came from a hallucination. More about that later.

Also, I'm currently at 150 pounds wake-up weight. I've been trying to eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible in addition to increasing my caloric intake to about 2500-3000 each day. I committed to this and a daily weight routine about the same time I decided to "quit" smoking. This is the first time in my life I've weight more than 140 pounds, and it is an increase of about 15 pounds in a month. My goal is 165 pounds by the end of fall, maintaining my current <1% body fat.

Music. Next entry.
