Slow Motion, Michael's and Snow

Jan 24, 2014 13:44

All my technology seems to be either acting up or operating in slow motion today. My phone wouldn't download emails or anything from my What's App. I finally got it working properly again only to find that my computer was in slow motion. No reason, it's new, and there's not a lot on it; I guess it just didn't feel like working too hard today (as good an explanation as anything else I could figure out).

Or maybe it's the cold. It's bitterly cold out today - again - and I think we're supposed to be getting a blizzard this afternoon or tonight. Either way, I'm not going anywhere, so I'm good. Except I'm so bloody sick of winter already. I've probably said that before, which just goes to show how true it is. I wish I was living in Scotland with my daughter. Okay, not just because they have better weather, but that is ONE of the reasons!

It's a good day to settle in with a good book, catch up on the laundry, and work on the piece I'm doing for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. It's fairly large, and has a white fluffy cat looking at a vase of roses that sits on a piece of old lace. This combines 3 things she loves; white fluffy cats, flowers, and lace so it seemed pretty perfect. I'm working on a black background, which I had heard was difficult, but so far I find it's not a problem. The light bulb in my craft lamp (which I use almost every day) blew out the other day and I had to go looking for a new one. It was $2.55 online, but when I added on shipping charges it came to $36.00. Uh, no, I don't think so. So then I went to Michael's, who wanted $40.00. Why do I even bother going there? Their prices are always the highest of anybody. Next I tried Home Depot - $7.00. Sold!
