No, I Haven't Fallen Off the Face of the Earth (yet)

This is the first day in a very long time that I have the house, and some time, to myself. Thank God. Between having hubby around more and dealing with my daughter's graduate school stuff, I rarely have a moment to think. So, some updates. My daughter now has a flat booked in Dundee, Scotland which looks quite nice, and since they were only built in 2012 everything is in good shape. Its furnished, which is great because no way did I want to have to go round buying furniture when we arrive in August. She even has a washer and dryer in her flat, which is a bonus. The downside is she has to pre-pay her entire year's rent because she's an international student. However, her Dad has offered to put her tuition fees due now (about $11,000) on his credit card which was nice (and he'll get a lot of points on his card for it, so it's a win/win situation). Once the tuition is paid, the University will send the forms we need to apply for her student visa. We've also completed her OSAP application (Ontario/Canada Student Loans), but we have to wait for the University to send in an official letter regarding her fees, book costs, etc. It sounds like a lot, but everything is underway now, so it's a controlled chaos type of situation. We've started checking flight prices but will wait to book (we're not sure yet how many of us are going; it may just be my daughter and I, or my husband and possibly his mother might come too).

I haven't had time to write or even read lately, and I miss it. It seems like every day I'm doing something with hubby or just regular spring/household chores, then every evening I'm helping my daughter with school-related stuff. We're having my mother-in-law over for the weekend, so there go my plans for some downtime.

Oh, and somehow, I managed to break a toe. No idea how. I did some weeding the other day and my foot, my knee and my back all went on strike the following day. LOL. I'm not so good at learning to pace myself. When I do a job, I went to get it all finished in one day - my body just doesn't tend to agree with me.

Our senior kitty is still trundling along. We do a hand-feed every evening which she's prettying good about, and she eats some during the day on her own too. The other two cats are fine - both of them enjoying the lovely warmer weather. We put up our gazebo recently and the cats think we put it there for them. They love to sleep on the chairs inside it, and will stay out there even if it's raining as they feel sheltered there.

I'm so far behind in watching Doctor Who, I'm ashamed to admit it. Honestly, the last episode I watched was the Christmas ep. I did get episodes 6-11, but they're all in the 264 format, and I think I'm going to have to convert them if I want to watch them on my tv. Pain in the ass, but I don't see any way around it - couldn't find any copies of the eps in avi format. I have a software update to do for my Blu Ray player - maybe then it'll play the 264 format (hopefully).

Time for lunch and then I'm going to READ A BOOK! Whoa. Haven't had time to do that. Maybe I'll take both lunch and book and join the cats outside in the gazebo (just so they understand it really isn't there ONLY for them!).
