Yes, I Can Do It All - But Beware the Consequences!

We had invited my mother-in-law to come for the weekend, so everyone knew that meant the house had to be thoroughly cleaned as she's one of those whose biggest pride is a clean house. Me? Not so much. LOL. Anyway, I had a rough couple of days earlier in the week what with the tests, and pain, etc., so I wasn't able to start on the cleaning until Thursday. I had assumed I would have help. Will you know that happens to people who assume. The only help I got was my daughter (grudgingly) cleaning the sink, counter and toilet (in hers and her brother's bathroom), and vacuuming the upstairs hall and one small bedroom. I was grateful, but a little more help would have been really nice. Friday I was working my ass off, and getting angrier by the minute. When I found myself getting mad at one of the cats merely because she's so timid I knew I needed to calm down. I have sedatives I take to help me sleep and I seriously considered taking half of one right then and there. In the end, I took a break and managed to calm down, at least enough that the anger was on a slow burn rather than a raging inferno.

Saturday was busy too. Went out with hubby in the morning to return empty liquor bottles, then picked up some wine for the weekend, then rushed back home so I could drive my daughter to work. Then I had to drive across town to where my son worked, so hubby could get his car back, after which he headed off to pick up his mum. Then I had to go for groceries, haul them all in and put them all away. Finally, I had to clear out stuff from the spare room to make it ready for our guest. By that time I was exhausted and running out of time, so "clearing out" amounted to throwing everything surplus in a box and shoving the box in the spare room.

We went to see Skyfall on Sunday, and it was a great movie. So much better than the last Bond film. I'm torn as to whether it was better than Casino Royale or not. Not sure. So, the next movie I'll probably see will be The Hobbit. I see Tom Cruise is coming out with a new film, where he plays Jack Reacher, but I think I'd like to read the book first.

Today was supposed to be a day of rest but yeah, that didn't really happen. Wound up doing laundry, changing the bed linens, cleaning the master bathroom, and vacuuming. Maybe tonight will be quiet. We'll see.
