Well last week I spent a day or so in Wellington by myself. It was really a good experience, in the sense it made me work to do things on my own and figure things out on my own, instead of with the wonderful help T has been providing since I arrived. I think he's doing it so that I do learn to do things on my own more and be more independent in the city. It also made me feel more like a Kiwi and part of everything doing it on my own. I think it was a great experience overall.
On Monday I helped moved cows and heifers from one field to the other, which was a new experience for me. Luckily the weather was fine, and I will try to post some pics of it when I am feeling better. (I feel like a bunch of crap today-I've really been hit with a cold.)
Tuesday was the 4th of July, and T surprised me with a party, complete with a cake decorated like the American flag (which was yummy hazelnut Pavlova and fruit), red, white and blue balloons throughout the house, and party poppers (think small confetti shooters). I was so surprised and also excited. I also took pics of the celebration and I will add to my galleries as soon as I get the time and figure it out more, along with feeling better soon. Another exciting thing happened that day, I got the job I applied for, so now I have work, which also means I'm preparing to move down to Wellington FT now.
So lots going on. I need to lie down and have a good sleep, as I do feel like I've been hit with a brick to the head, with my sinuses stuffed and such. Hope all is well with everyone. cheers, M.
