this weekend..
Well this weekend, it was getting back to family and traditions. Last night, Saturday night, I went out to Elko Speedway to watch the stock car races with my family. I've done this since I was a baby, and then just about every weekend when I was 12 until I graduated from HS. It's always interesting though, and it felt good to get back to something familiar.
Then today, I went up to my grandparents' house for lunch, and spent time with my family, who were teasing me because of my supposid "accent" I picked up, though I don't have much of one I think....and enjoyed hearing about differences between the US and NZ phrases and ways of life.
Then shortly after returning home from my grandparents' house, I went to my second cousin's and half-second cousin's dance recitals at my old high school. Talk about memories. I felt like I was back at the yearly talent show in HS or something....So the rest of the afternoon I'm going to relax, and go shopping with my mom tonight, after uploading some new photos of home to my flickr, for those back in NZ.
