Too many thoughts buzzing in my brain.

Where do I start.......I'm really really really tired of living where I am. I've been here 8 years and I'm bored. When the building was sold last year I was kind of hopeful that the new management would be better. I have to admit that there have been some improvements that were good. I now have storm windows and a new door. Despite storm windows my last electric bill was much more then I'd like to spend considering the size of my apartment and the heat wasn't even set that high. When I need something in my apartment fixed, it's fixed half assed. There are some other annoyances as well. My lease is up in March so I've been looking in the paper for something that may be better. I found something in Port Washington only a few blocks from downtown, only $35 more a month in rent, heat is included, they have a winter special of one month free, and OMG I'd be living in town where there are sidewalks, and streetlights! I could go for a walk and be much safer then if I went for a walk here. Depending on which building and what side I'd be living on I'd even get a lake view. Last weekend I happily called and made an appointment for this Friday to go see it. Here's the problem that has arisen.....

What also happened last weekend was I had my oil changed and was told that I needed to get my car in someplace and get the serpentine belt replaced because mine was really cracked. On saturday I was calling around seeing where I could get my car in and the only place that answered the phone was Midas. Yesterday the belt was changed and the mechanic told me that I had a coolant leak. He said something about intake manifold gasket, and as long as they're in there I can get a new thermostat, and spark plugs. This is a very expensive repair.....I got a second quote from another mechanic who can do it for significanly less but it's still a very expensive repair. They said I don't need to do it right away but I should get it done soon. I know I need the repair but I REALLY don't want to be stuck living where I am. I'd like to try to do both but I'm having a hard time seeing how I can do both. One thought was I can hurry up and get my taxes done. I've gotten decent refunds in the past....that could help if not pay for the repair. Any thoughts....anybody?
