Day One of Newfoundland Excursion:
1am - Get back from the hospital. I swear I should just live there. (I was there for moral support)
1.10am - Find out my ride to the airport cancelled. Panic.
1.20am - Calmed down a bit but still panicking as bus leaves at 7.25 and I still have mass amounts to do including buying a ticket.
2am - Go to bed
5.45am - Wake up and walk into door. God damn mornings
6.50am - Begin trek to bus station, still not fully awake.
7.15am - Get ticket just as bus pulls in. Sigh of relief.
9.45am - Get to Halifax Airport. Thank god for web-check in
10am - Security intergates me about my bag then unpacks it, swabs it, digs through it again and hands me a messed up bag. Silently curse but remain calm because that's their job....
11am - Sit next to a nice newfie on thee plane who it turns out was in Vernon for Reading Week boarding at Silver Star. Go off into trance about thinking of Kelowna
1pm - Land in St.John's. Find a cab. God I love newfoundland. They talk as fast and as much as me..
1.10pm - Shocked by the mass amount of snow. Just stare at snow that almost covers up the stop signs.
1.20 pm - Get to the B&B and find my room
1.30pm - Sleeping
5pm - Begin trek to George Street to get dinner and possibly screeched in. Have a moose burger but alas no screech in as the person is sick.
6pm - Get lost on the way to the museum.
7.30pm - Try not to laugh loudly when I see the skeleton of a whale named 'Pothead Whale'
8pm - Stand at Mile Zero of the Trans Canada Highway....How is it there are two Mile Zero points....
8.45pm - Fall in a slush puddle. Pissed because I'm soaking wet and cold now.
9pm - Get back to B&B and have a pot of tea.
***Newfoundland is amazing. I love it. There is so much snow that when they cleared some sidewalks it creates these little tunnels. Pretty effing sweet. On other parts, there are no cleared sidewalks so you are walking in the middle of the road pretty much. They drive better here though. Tomorrow its off to Cape Spear, Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi, SHOPPING :OD and random places....Oh and screeched in....***
