heys again! three posts in an hour, i have really outdone myself!
ok, so, i know im P6 only, but call me kiasu. i'm already thinking about universities. when i grow up, i want to pursue a career in climatology or astronomy. obviously, singapore DOES NOT do this kind of things, so i obviously have to go overseas. currently, i've got my eye on three universities. (in order of first choice, second choice, third choice).
1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Fees: Approxmiated cost for 2006-2007 Academic Year.
Tuition and fees: $33,600
Rooms and Meals: $9,950
Books and Personal Expenses: $2,800
Total cost: $46,350
sounds reasonable right? THINK AGAIN. It's in USD!! When converted to Singapore dollars it becomes...
Total Cost: $71,369.73!!!
2. Harvard University (Undergraduate program: Harvard College)
Fees: Approxmiated cost for 2006-2007 Academic Year.
Tuition: $30,275
Health Services Fee: $1,390

Room: $5,328

Estimated Personal Expenses: $2,795
Total Cost: $46,450 (USD)

3. Yale University (Undergraduate program: Yale College)

Total Cost: $45,850 (USD)
: $ 70,599.83!!! (SGD)
Right. And guess what NUS costs? Plus tuition fees and special terms fees, it's all under 10,000 a year
Well, my choice seems obvious, doesn't it? Either work until I die to get a A STAR scholarship.......
Or laze around and go to NUS.
