Helen Hayes last night was generally lame. The ceremony was lame. The results were lame. The reception was lame. The best parts of the ceremony were Susan Lynskey's kisses and Jerry Herman performing "Mame" from Mame after his tribute. The only non-DC celebrity I saw at the reception was Patricia Clarkson, who I had already met after A Streetcar Named Desire last spring, so I didn't especially care. I skipped out before seeing some people I wish I could have found, but I was able to catch up with F and PC. I was so put off by the arrangement of the reception that I didn't take any pictures, save for these of myself after I had gotten home:
