A sharp crack, a simultaneous collapse.
The name rings out in the still air:
No, Harry, NO!
A voice broken by disbelief,
A blond head, bent, giving in to grief,
And sadness, salty-sweet and hot as fire
Courses down pale cheeks and falls
Twisting, twirling, glittering, to the ground.
Please, the worst word
And yet by far the most appropriate.
Please, a face turned toward the heavens,
But there is nothing to be done.
A lion heart, so full of love and revenge
Stops beating.
Total silence reigns,
Broken by the slim figure rising
On mud-soaked limbs,
And walking away.
