30 songs on my laptop that fails at playing music
my laptop has been doing this enraging thing lately - after a short period of time playing a song, 10 seconds to 4 minutes, the speaker will make a snapping noise and then the audio will cut out. Sometimes it will make a quieter snapping noise and the song will go into mono, then it will make another noise and it will stop entirely (like the two different sides of the speaker getting overloaded at different times). iTunes will continue 'playing' the rest of the song in silence, and when it shuffles to the next one the sound will come back until it happens again. It's especially bad with iTunes, but I recently started using Spotify and it does it with that as well. My computer had to be fixed recently because it turned out the fan attached to the video card wasn't operational, and I thought the sound problem had resolved with that fix, but here it is back again. Perhaps I should reinstall the sound card drivers, although I tried that several times before the fan was fixed and it didn't sort it out. Grah. Any ideas???
On that note, s1lentmuse posted a Facebook meme where you have to put your iTunes on shuffle and list the first 30 songs in order. Given my inability to listen to any song for more than 45 seconds or so, it was a good time to do the meme. My computer has an unhealthy love of Fiona Apple's Tidal - it came up with 3 of the songs off that album, out of a possible pool of 6952. I haven't rated it or anything, either.
