"What is this, a pervert convention?"

"What's sinew, weirdos?"

Well here we are 2 days into April already. After an eventful month of entries in February, March flew by without so much as a Hello from yours truly. Oh well. Actually March was one of the more eventful months as of lately. Let's see...

I believe the first weekend in March was the Egon's/Rebekah's Tape show at the Pub. Both bands brought the rock, as always. It was nice to see Rebekah's Tape since I hadn't seen them play in awhile. I believe that was the night of the arm wrestling match between both bands - with Egon's coming out victorious. After that was the after party at Mike Richard's house - complete with a surprise appearance from HKEC.

I also got a new guitar - an Epiphone Les Paul.  Although  since it's Epiphone  instead of a  Gibson, it comes with the  cheaper EMG pickups instead of the nicer ones. So a couple weekends ago I went down to the Guitar Center in Peoria to pick me up the nice set of pickups to put in it for roughly $215. It was kind of pricey for pickups, but it was totally worth it. Seeing as I have no idea how to install them, I took a trip over to The Guitar Junkyard to have them installed for a small fee. Of course while I was at the Guitar Center I also had to try out some guitars. So I went next to the hippy kid strumming some nerd shit on an acoustic guitar and picked me up a nice 4,000 dollar Les Paul, plugged it in and proceeded to bust out some Lamb of God riffs and whatever fast solo shit I could muster up.  Needless to say he  didn't stay much longer.

St. Patricks day brought a rock and/or roll show to the Cancun with performances by Egons and The Dancing Nancies, among others(and of course all the 14 year old scenesters in attendence). After that it was off to Roughneck's for the afterparty, including a ridiculous amount of green beer consumed. I didn't partake though, It was just regular brew for me. By the end of the night, Id have to say it was more packed with people than New Years - although it wasn't nearly as crazy. I just hung out and played some git with Tim in Roughneck's room most of the night.

A couple weeks ago Ryan and I headed off to The Quad cities in the Res Dog. First off we hit up Best Buy to get Season 3 of Tales From The Crypt that had just came out the day before. I also picked up season 6 of the Simpsons, since I needed to do some catching up in collecting them(although since then I've also gotten seasons 3,4 and 5). After that it was Taco John's time where Ryan thought he could challenge me in a "6 pack and a pound eating contest". Actually though when we were both done we pretty much ate the same amount. Next time though I told Ryan It's gonna be no contest and I'm going for 15 tacos! We're going back when he comes home on Easter break.

There was also "The Battle of the Bands" at the Pub with Egon's coming out victorius by three votes I believe. Congratulations guys, hopefully you'll go all the way! Yes, March was definately a good month for local shows and hopefully April turns out just the same. Speaking of concerts, I can't begin to describe how excited I am about going to see Dragonforce in May. I can't wait! The Anticipation is killing me.

Anyways, the next morning after the Battle at the Pub I had to go renew my drivers license which expired in literally two days. Waiting in the DMV is bad enough without being hungover and functioning on 4 hours of sleep. Needless to say, when it came time to sign my name, thanks to the aftermentioned factors(and due to my lack of cursive skills) the end result looked like "Nelly" instead of "Michael". So I now have a license signed by "Nelly Joiner"...Just lovely!

My birthday was also this month - the 27th. So thank you to all those who sent me bday wishes. And to those who didn't - may you get cancer and die. I kid of course...you don't have to die right away!

This past week I ventured over to Peru to get King Kong(2005) on DVD. I couldn't find the special edition that I wanted, so I had to wait and get it the next day at Wal-Mart in town. While I was in Peru, I stopped in to see Ashley at Bergners. I got to see the weird lady and hear her talk about how she likes her roast beef cut thin enough to see through and listen to her instructions on how to make homemade White Castle hamburgers. What a night!

Friday I also ended up in Bergners and talked to Ashley and Colleen for a bit. Colleen noticed my face was dry and was nice enough to rub some cream on it for me! After that, the three of us ended up going to Target where I picked up Season 3 of The Simpsons. After that we went to SNS and being the gentleman I am, I paid for their meal.

Ok time for bed...

Later!
