And here's an adoptive Tar Heel's (having spent my 1st year in the States, at age 12, in NC) experience on the East Coast.
Quite Southern really (ok, without ever having gone all-the-way-down-to-the-gulf, but still) or at least so I feel after 2.5 years in between NC anc DC, and then just a year in NYC (no real New England stays either).
