Dear Clients,
This notice is in regards to the recent outages experienced on Server1.
The server has been experiencing hard drive failures these past few
days and has become unstable. Therefore we will be replacing the entire
server with a brand new server which will arrive in the data center
within 3 days. The new server is a brand new machine, it is far superior to
the current server you are on. The new server is a very stable machine
with incredible specs and is equipped with 2 CPU's:
1U SuperMicro airflow-engineered chassis
SuperMicro server-grade motherboard
2x2.4ghz 533mhz fsb Xeon (2 CPU's)
2gb ecc registered ram
2x120gb 8mb cache ide hdd
All clients on the unstable server will be transferred to this new
server as the old server will no longer be in use. This will be completed
within approximately 4 days. The transfer will be 100% seamless and will
be accomplished without any downtime whatsoever. You will be issued a
new IP once the transfer has been completed and you will be notified.
We apologize for the recent episodes and intermittent outages which
occurred on the current server, unfortunately when you are dealing with
these machines hard drives will fail from time to time (thankfully it is
not a common occurrence) however it does happen and it is completely
out of our control. In the meantime our techs at the data center are
currently swapping hard drives on the unstable server and it will be back
up shortly. They are still working on the server and have been doing so
all evening and will not leave the data center until it is back online.
We are doing everything possible to have this completed a.s.a.p. It
will be completed very shortly (within approximately 2 hours) and your
site(s) will be back online shortly. In the meantime we are also eagerly
awaiting the arrival of the new server. We have also made specific
arrangements to ensure that these issues are resolved in a more timely
fashion in the future. Again, we apologize for the recent intermittent
outages experienced this past week and regret any inconvenience this caused.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this matter.
