Donny!

I'm in Emma's house in Doncaster right now. Donny's a little city near Leeds in South Yorkshire. It's just a normal little city, nothing of national recognition, really. But it's real nice being here with Emma (I missed her soo much!) and Lauren, meeting Emma's mates and everything. Her mom cooked a proper Yorkshire hot pot for us last night -- Emma's favourite meal. Last night we went out for just a few drinks at this pub where her mate Ruth works, and the pub kept playing the most amazing music, like the Eagles, Metallica, and all sorts of songs from my mom's time that she used to quiz me on in the car -- it was like Z93 playing in the background. Not all of you will understand that reference. Anyway.

So today we went shopping in Leeds. To be honest, I kept an eye out to see if I saw Sean from Five, because I'm a geek. Leeds is really nice. It's bigger than Newcastle, a bit warmer (hit 60F today!), and there were, I'll be honest, more attractive men like my type there. I think, of all the places I've been in the UK, Leeds would be my number one choice as a runner-up to London. I bought a purple leather coat, a German Coca Cola shopping bag, and a giant handbag from these nice vintage shops. I wish I had gotten a real long black leather trenchie as well. Oh well -- I can always go back for a day shopping trip.

We came back and ate at this delicious Tex Mex place in Doncaster called Cactus Jack's. I finally had my first whole margarita. It wasn't particularly strong, but it was delicious. It was my first Mexican food in since I left the US. (Moe's was my last meal.)

So we're going to go out tonight, and it'll be good fun. Then Lauren and I will hang around all tomorrow till we go back to Newcastle in the evening. But Emma and most everyone else will be back next weekend, then we have May Day as a bank holiday, and that should be good fun.

Happy birthday shout out to Amanda Waldroup, and happy purely Earth Day to my mother. I love you two and can't wait till you both get here next month!
