Well, that didn't go as planned at all...
Yesterday and today was definitely interesting... in good and bad ways.
Last night after church service we come home and eat and it went well, we joked, laughed and such and I made sure to inform my family that I still needed to run over Raul and his mom's gifts and I might be over there if they had some gifts or were opening gifts that night.
I went over at around 9 and didn't make it home until almost 2:30am. It was awesome. Everyone loved the scarves I knit for them and his sister Nati gave me the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe. I was so shocked that she got me a gift I almost teared up. (it gets better)
Christmas Day I talked to my mom about Raul being able to meet Karin (who was so excited to meet him and she asked me as soon as she walked in when she was going to see him) and she just fucking went off. My sister up and hates him, my mom thinks he looks like a dirty lazy mexican, and he left a bad impression on my parents.... uh... how? He made sure to come early and greet them before our first date, and when ever he's over we're either fresh off of work or on our way to or from soccer. I'm just lost. I don't really have the words to describe it. I went over to Raul's after a very uncomfortable breakfast and was completely enfolded into their family. I was given brunch and gifts and hugs, and just spoiled beyond any comprehension or expectation.
From Raul's family I got:
A soccer uniform for our indoor soccer games
A custom Luis Scola uniform in their vintage coloring!
A gift certificate to Michael's for $25
I didn't expect anything from them, like.... at all. Raul's saving up for mine for when we get our next check. But because my mom made some serious digs at Raul's lack of gift we decided that the Scola jersey is from him as far as my family is concerned.
I don't want to go in to it but... Christmas was awesome and sucky all at the same time.... how was yours?
