ICELAND MEMORY

After walking 5 miles in freezing rain (and facing another 5 mile walk back to our tent and dehydrated foods that we can't really cook because our little stove didn't work very well in rain/wind), Steve and I arrive at an overpriced restaurant overlooking the awe-inspiring waterfall (uberhuge and covered in rainbows) that we'd journeyed to see.

Seriously, $9 for a tiny sandwich.  Remember, we were there for 3 weeks and had about a $1500 budget for transportation/lodging/etc., because we're awesome like that.  So, we huddle over our tiny fare, making it last as long as possible, when we notice the family at the table in front of us.

The kids are whining about the food (which admittedly wasn't very good), and refusing to eat it.  YES!  OH LORD YES!!

So, eventually, the family leaves, TWO 3/4 FULL PLATES!

And Steve, brave provider that he is, dashes in and takes the food while the bus girl looks on, bewildered and disapproving, and I'm laughing my ass off with glee, and we proceed to devour the kid-slobbery leftovers.

Best tasting awful food ever :)

We stole rolls from their soup bar too.

THE END.

In other news...

I HATE LYME DISEASE.

Falling all over the place is OK sometimes, I can deal with that.

But now I'm all twitchy again, and I can't even go to the grocery store :(

So much for kicking the habit.

:(

AND MY DOCTOR WON'T CALL ME BACK.

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Mostly, I just hope I don't get neurological symptoms again and lose my job from an inability to think/remember who I am/what I'm doing.

But, I should have better health insurance in February, so mebbe I can try out some more specialists or something.

At least I have good sandwiches in my life now!!! :)
