BOOKS 2013: January
1. Mind of the Raven: Investigations and Adventures with Wolf-Birds - Bernd Heinrich
2. Shardik - Richard Adams
3. Rivers of London - Ben Aaronovitch
4. Moranthology - Caitlin Moran
5. Innocent Killers - Hugo Van Lawick and Jane Goodall
6. Ghost Story - Peter Straub
7. The Mist in the Mirror - Susan Hill
I enjoyed all my books this month to some extent. Stand-outs are Rivers of London for fiction and both zoology books (Mind of the Raven; Innocent Killers) for non-fiction. Rivers of London isn't what you'd call particularly literary or deep but it had a core made of pure fun. It reminded me a lot of China Miéville's books with the focus-on-place, except I found it more likable than I have found his books. I'll be reading the rest once my bank account has got over its most recent lashing.
