i will perpetually be the kid in the fetal position at the end of the high dive.
ive never been a jumper.
and when i look down, everyone i know is below me, urging me to take the leap.
the giant leap of faith that assures me i wont belly flop.
unfortunately, its a lot easier for me to climb back down the ladder in societal shame and personal glory than it is to land face first in the water.
i just cant belly flop again.
