The Beast and I decided to stay here and CLEAN all weekend. Clothes get washed or bagged to give away. Garbage gets thrown out. Potentially useful objects that we don't want (i.e. the loot of the last 3 Christmases) get boxed for
Freecycle. The unwanted smelly shower gel/soaps/etc. could go to a women's shelter, as could the women's clothes. Stuff that is too random or pointless for Freecycle gets boxed too...maybe destined for a garage/free sale. Books get shelved or boxed to trade in at Half-Price Books. Paperwork gets pitched or put in a file box. Former pet homes need to be stored out of the way. Hey, does anyone need some mouse/hamster food or pet bedding or know anyone who does?
This could be really fun if I look at it the right way. Just think - all the neat stuff I haven't seen in years can be rescued and organized, and then I get to give away the rest. :] I'm excited by the prospect of finding antique tins to store my organized stuff in. I think I should make a list of stuff I don't want on the computer so I can post it here and there. I'll make a few boxes of childhood memorabilia which I can always store in my parents' large basement, which was fabulously outfitted with shelving by the previous owner. I still need a good place to store clothes - the plastic storage bins we were using are convenient but make our clothes smell unpleasantly like plastic.
After all this is done, we can play video games and go swimming. :] Sunday is supposed to be evilly hot. I have Monday off, yay! I think I'd like to go see a movie, too.
Yesterday I got some Australian lamb chops and a bottle of...Two Buck Chuck!
muskie_girl, I got the Shiraz. Which variety do you like? That should make a nice dinner, though I forgot the mint jelly and have to go back to Trader Joe's for that. And some cherries if they have them, and some beer.
Yay for domesticity.
