(no subject)
I've gotten a few compliments on the car lately. People liked it at the family reunion this weekend. Which was fun, though we had to leave early because of tornado watches. Bleh. Still, nice to see people and hang out.
A couple days ago, again, on the way home, I passed this redneck in a minivan. Now, I'm guessing he was a redneck by the bungee cords holding the driver's side door closed. I was next to him at a stoplight when he shouted over, "I like that design, is it Indian?" Explaining was no use but he was cool ad I said thanks.
Yesterday after work I met Steph at Best Buy and we shopped for a new television; they're having a sale where a lot of modes are 10%-20% off. We got a 46" Samsung LED model after being there for an hour and a half. While loading it into the car, I heard someone pass by and say to their friend, "Wow, cool car."
So, we got the TV home and gt it set up, watching a couple episodes of Stargate SG-1. We're on the second season already; our plan to stop at season breaks doesn't work where there's cross-season cliffhangers. There were a couple of settings on the TV that were trying to smooth out motion that I turned off after the first episode because they were actually impeding it, with weird time ramping artifacts at the start of every single shot, but I fixed it before the second episode.
Today we're going to look at couches, then go to my parents' since Jen asked us to help her move. So much for staying at home this weekend. Next weekend will be our first non-traveling weekend in months; nothing's gonna screw with that 'cause it's Steph's birthday. Everyone else can drive to us.
