Been a while since I wrote, so let's start off with a couple bits of mine from Facebook today: "Holy POOP. Where did THAT come from?" It's snowing like crazy today, the amount we're now supposed to get has doubled from the forecast a couple days ago, we're now looking at a foot. Which we've handled before, it'd be fine, but a friend of mine was spot on when she said: "newsflash: just because there is no school this week doesnt mean that people dont work and that the roads should be plowed at a decent hr. WTF!" I replied, "Yeah, it's like they didn't even try around me. If it wasn't for faint tire tracks, I felt like I was braving an all new trail through rural America. Or rural Canada (something of an oxymoron)."

The drive was especially disconcerting because of Faith's condition; she's scraping a lot, either on the ground or in the suspension, and makes a really disconcerting high-pitched rattle at high revs. Yesterday I dropped her off at the shop (while taking Steph's car to work); she needs a suspension strut replaced as well as some sort of repair to the exhaust manifold. Since he told me it's a $1,000 job, I wouldn't be surprised it at least part of said manifold is getting replaced. Fortunately, the warranty that I bought with the car will cover it. w00t! It'll take around 5 days to get the parts in. Not as w00t, but hopefully they can repair her before the Buffalo trip. Safe to drive until then, but we'll have to consider whether we want to take my car and drive a tad carefully or take Steph's car. Probably mine; smaller car + careful driving = much better mileage.

What else. Abstract Messiah is rendered and on a Blu-Ray and should be arriving to Bryan today. I've got to throw it on a DVD and ship it to Laz tomorrow so he can put a blooper reel on it for DVDs to sell at the premiere.

Not much else besides that. I'm reading the Cassandra Kresnov novels again at work; if I'd known it was bad weather today I would have brought the third, because I should be able to finish the second one up by noon today. Le sigh.
