My First Day of School (Wow...what an Original Title)
I'm done with day one, YESSSS!!!!!!
Hah...that means absolutely nothing...I've only gotten a taste of the senior year life (or lack of one)...I think I'll just run through my schedule for the day and describe each class (or lack of one)...
1. AP Spanish Language
Mrs. Mendes is perky as usual...extremely jumpy and overly energetic. But we all love having her as a teacher...so w/e... But yeah, this Friday we're having show-and-tell to get our Spanish back up to par, and thankfully, I don't have to go until next Friday. I'm wondering what I should bring...I thought of the YSP scrapbook...but that might bring up some nasty stories that I really don't want to get into...
2. AP Calc
Mrs. Patz is retiring next year!!!!!! OMG I can't believe she's doing that...she's an AMAZING teacher. She complained in front of us today b/c last year she had a 100% pass rate and 80% of her kids got 5's. And then she ranted on about how last year she had the first 3 in fourteen years... Anyways...she gave us an algebra review sheet to do today...tedious...but what was sad was that I really couldn't get my mind on the work...
3. VCC Humanities
Mr. Barrows is our magnet director...and he's also AMAZING...we played some weird mind games first today...The most memorable one was where he said "There's this country where the customs office only lets in strange items...Everyone start guessing..." It turned out that what you could bring into the country was any item that started with the first letter of your name. So I guess I could bring bacon, broccoli, bats, the Bay of Fundy, and hmm...a barf bag???
4. AP English Lit.
Mr. Fedell...he's such a learned figure...he's great when he's reading Shakespeare (what we did today)...even if you don't understand a word of what's going on. It got really nervewracking today b/c he started asking random people what random lines in the work meant...I kept my head down the whole time, but he still called on me...but thankfully I knew the meaning of those lines...so w/e...
5. AP Physics
Mr. Harper...you're just "interesting?" He kept on "picking" on me today b/c he said that he heard a lot of good things about me through Mrs. Patz... Anyways...he asked me to make a metal stick sing... So I was like..."I can sing and pretend that the stick is singing..." Hah...like that passes...Anyways...he wet the stick and then rubbed it to make it vibrate like a tuning fork...and it blew my ear drums out...
6. AP Biology
I've always loved having Ms. Grable for a teacher...she's such an amusing teacher...and great too...but I don't know why there are over twenty people in our class...that's a lot for an AP Biology class...anyways, we discussed bio basics today...how interesting...
