Notes: I AM SO SUPPOSED TO BE DOING HOMEWORK. It's even in a neat pile ready to be paid attention to. But in their usual fashion Arashi took over my mind and body this came out. Written largely because I've been on too many buses lately for comfort, and because the only fan-service-y moment I had last night at the Taipei concert was a Sakuraiba one. XD Hope you like.
Aiba is big but he likes to squeeze into small places, such as Sho's lap. Right now his lanky form is curled up like a kitten on his seat, sleeping soundly as Sho cradles his head against his chest. Sho's head is turned to the side, towards Jun, and although his eyes are closed Jun knows he isn't really asleep because Sho hardly sleeps on tour buses. Instead he is going through the upcoming concert plans in his head, or thinking about dinner, or both.
Jun watches Sho's hand absentmindedly stroke Aiba's hair and wonders how they do it. Whenever the group travels on tour buses, with cramped seats like those on an airplane, each member usually claims an entire row for themselves to stretch out on, and even then it might still be uncomfortable. Jun marvels at how Aiba and Sho can sit like this for four hours and not move. They look so damn comfortable, too, all arms and legs and soft, rhythmic breathing.
And as Jun ponders, the bus hits a rough patch on the road and shakes for a bit, jostling Aiba out of his slumber. The tall man blinks several times to clear the fuzziness, and a small smile pulls at the edges of his lips when he looks up at Sho, whose eyes are also open and are looking down at him. Sho's gaze is concerned, and his hand pats the other man's hair a bit firmly. Aiba grins sleepily and yawns. He wriggles a bit on Sho's lap and slides his arms around Sho's shoulders and neck. He nuzzles his nose into the opening of Sho's shirt collar and sighs, his eyes fluttering shut. Then, as if remembering something, he looks up at Sho again and his mouth opens just a little. Sho bents his head down and their lips touch, and Jun looks away because this moment belongs to the two of them and no one else. When Jun looks back, the kiss has ended and Aiba is sleeping contentedly against Sho as before, and Sho is looking out the window, back to thinking about whatever he was thinking about.
And there is a strange tugging at the corner of Jun's heart, but it's nothing bad because it doesn't hurt, exactly, it's just there, like it always is whenever Jun sees Aiba and Sho together. Longing, his brain tells him. Fear of solitude.
And he is just grudgingly admitting that yes, indeed, he sometimes is very afraid of being alone, when a hand finds his and twines their fingers together, and a sleepy Ohno rubs his cheek against Jun's shoulder and asks him if they are there yet.
And the darkness flees as Jun smiles and he says, no, not yet, but soon.
