Important Survey-Please pass on to parents of Jewish children with special needs in Greater Boston

Jan 20, 2010 16:36

Please do pass this along; this is not intended to be a scientific survey but rather to cast a wide net regarding needs assessment by parents and educators in the area, so that we can concentrate our services where they are needed most.

Please forward this information to parents of children with special needs in the Greater Boston Jewish community.

To: Parents, Educators, Jewish Organization and Synagogue Professionals, Lay Leaders, and others

Dear Friends,

Our community is committed to the enhancement of Jewish education services for students with special learning needs. We have created a survey for Greater Boston-area parents of children with special needs. This survey will collect data about the status of services for children with learning challenges at congregational schools and early childhood learning centers within the greater Boston area.

Here is a link to the parent survey:

We understand that the choice to enroll in a congregational school or early childhood learning center is individual and unique to each family. We hope to gather information from families with many different experiences and perspectives, including those who currently or have participated in congregational and community Jewish education programs as well as those who have not. Every family’s voice is important in this survey.

We are asking you to help distribute this survey to other families of children with special needs throughout the Greater Boston Jewish community. Please forward this email with the link to the survey to individuals and/or to other groups or listservs so that we may reach a wide range of families whose voices should be heard in this process.

If you are a parent of a child with special needs who either has or has not participated in Jewish education, we welcome your candid participation.

Sincerely,

Arlene Remz, Gateways
Elizabeth Sternberg, CJP
Ariel Burger, CJP

P.S. Education directors at congregational schools and early childhood learning centers will be receiving a separate survey shortly that will provide us with information about the services in their programs.
