My CC is snoring in her car seat, and I'm neither brave enough nor foolish enough to move her. Thank goodness for our driveway-reaching wifi network. My five:
1. Jigsaw puzzles and writing. Although I love revising, I forget how hard it can be to begin. Making sense of an editorial letter, then figuring out how to apply those suggestions to a manuscript is like doing a jigsaw puzzle. I'm okay once I get a few pieces put together, but right now it's like staring at a pile of 500 abstractly-colored shapes. *searches for the corners...*
2. Juggling and writing. I'm really excited about a new idea, and I'm trying to temper the excitement of the new against the work that I know needs to go in to OTHER DISASTERS, which is getting a new title. Perhaps I'll revise during my baby-free day time blocks, and draft for a little while in the evening? Hmmm... *drops a ball, errr, laundry...*
3. Goals and writing. My writing group, which has been meeting for ages (and I've praised numerous times here), shared individual goals last night, which is something we've never done. It was so exciting to hear everyone commit to a goal. And now I have 6 whip crackers cheerleaders to help me achieve mine. *readies my own whip for the others...*
4. Hand-writing. I've been using my project-based notebooks a lot this week, hand writing notes and crazy outlines to help me define an approach to take with these two novels. And in both cases, I've come up with some nice breakthroughs this way. Sometimes I forget how valuable that pen/brain connection is. *priceless...*
5. Maple syrup and writing. Okay, these two things have nothing to do with one another. At least, not in my post. But tomorrow FH and I are taking CC to our farm share's Sugar Off pancake breakfast. Homemade maple syrup and pancakes? YUM! *yes, YUM!*
