My friends
Poetmom and
Writerbug are fond of posting to do lists on their blogs as a way to keep organized and set goals. I'm going to give it a try. Here are my writing goals for August:
Writing To-dos
- Revise 30 pages and synopsis for book 3 (due August 14)
- add 10,000 words to book 3 by 8/31
- Pitch two magazine articles
Marketing To-dos
- Send out ARCs for TT
- Finish website redesign
- (write new content for redesign)
- set up Skype account for Book Talks
- Reach out to local schools and libraries for visits
Whew! There's plenty more to do, but (I hope) that this is manageable for the month. Interesting to note that my marketing list is longer than my writing list. The amount of promotional stuff that needs to happen to generate interest in a title is pretty intense. Luckily, I enjoy it--maybe it's the teacher in me, but being in front of a group and talking about my books is not a big deal. Truth be told, I kind of like it.
Okay, time to get to work. Today, I'm going to start a list of places to send those ARCs and start revising that synopsis. Hope you have a productive day, too!!
