Two rides this weekend: Middlesex Canal and Cambridge Bow-Tie

Oct 01, 2008 19:31

On Saturday, October 4, MassBike, the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission, the Middlesex Canal Commission and the Middlesex Canal Association will sponsor the 6th annual Historic Bicycle Tour of the Middlesex Canal. The ride leaves from Sullivan Square T station at 9 am and ends up in Lowell. There are several opportunities to turn back early and take a commuter train back to Boston (or West Medford). For more information, read the flyer and the detailed cue sheet.

On Sunday, October 5, the Cambridge Bicycle Committee brings you the Third Bow-Tie Ride around that city. The ride assembles at Cambridge Common at 10:15 am. At Alewife station at noon, it will stop to join the Minuteman Bikeway Celebration. From Alewife, you can choose to either continue on the Cambridge ride, or ride up the Minuteman to participate in Arlington, Lexington, and Bedford celebrations later that afternoon.
