Short people's road bikes?
Hello! A friend and I are going to do a charity bike ride but neither of us has a bike to use (she recently moved and doesn't have one, mine is in use as a work vehicle) so we're looking for appropriately sized road bikes to either borrow or buy.
I'm a 5'3" guy and she's about 5 feet even. Most of the inexpensive road bikes I've been finding on craigslist are way too big for either of us.
We'll be riding 25 miles on the rolling hills of Hollis New Hampshire, a charity ride I've done for several years now--last year I did it on a borrowed mountain bike with huge fat knobby tires and it almost killed me. In previous years I've used my 1991 mountain bike that has road slicks and it worked fine (that bike now has a trailer on it and the back brakes disengaged to make room for a bent rear tire, and serves me well as a cargo vehicle at work).
Anyone have a bike to lend or to sell that fits the bill? Thanks!
