This
*waves hands around*
Livejournal.
That
*points into distance*
Twitter.
This - thing I like. That - thing I do not like.
Loudtwitter auto-updating: thing I really, really do not like.
Twitterpollution of my F-list is reaching massively irritating proportions now.
Tweets are dog-turds on the pavement of my friendslist.
So I am now using a filter on my friends page, so anyone who Twitters doesn't show up on my everyday friendslist. Which saves me a massive amount of irritation, means I don't have to de-friend anyone, and I can go scan their journal for actual livejournal updates every so often when I am in the mood for reading a stack of staccato scentences that are predominantly nonsense on the off chance someone has said something that is not part of a conversation with someone else that means bugger-all when you are only reading one side of it and might actually be something interesting/important/whatever instead.
Twitter is fine for other people, but not for me - and I did not like it being foisted upon me on Livejournal. Now it is not I feel much better, but felt it only fair to let people know that if they have chosen to become a Twit, I am no longer reading their journal regularly. Otherwise I would feel sneaky and mean.
I do not like Twitter, if you do, hoorah for you! There are a great many other things I do not like (for example, dog poo) and I do my best to avoid them. I had intended to avoid Twitter by the simple expedient of not signing up to it, but since people decided to start chasing me around LJ with Twitter on a stick, that was clearly not enough!
