my apping plans, let me show you them
APPING TL;DR v2.0The people mentioned on this list are still VERY MUCH on my mind but this is a NEARLY A SURE THING list and like three of the four people on it are new entries LOL. So. Yeah. This is me essaying about it in a futile hope of removing the clutter from my headspace. And trust me when I say that it's very cluttered in there.
VERONICA MARS :: VERONICA MARS
I'm Veronica. I'm from Neptune. And I once shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.& the 411: Hardboiled girl detective with snark to spare and more trust and abandonment issues than you can shake a stick at. Solves mysteries for reasonable rates with discounts for friends~. Has a soft marshmallow center under LAYERS AND LAYERS of tough, cynical exterior.
& why i want to app: Really just one of my favorite characters ever. I never even really participated in the fandom for this series because I just can't believe anything can compare to the canon itself. She's so wonderfully written, strong and purposeful but also very obviously damaged and she knows it. She's one character I keep coming back to even if I've played before not because I like to fall back on familiar ground but because I always end up feeling that there's more ground than I've ever really covered writing or playing-wise. Iiiiii've played her before and not done too badly and the humor and... rhythm of the writing for VM is something I can pick up and write and really enjoy it. There aren't too many Veronica roleplayers that I've seen but she has such complexity I'm so in love with analyzing and playing out.
& the pros: JUST AN ABSOLUTE BLAST TO PLAY. VM has some flat out awesome writing and dialogue. The way she operates would be so amazing to figure out in the context of whatever game I decide to app her in. Mad detectoring skillz I am not book OR street smart enough to pull but researching is fun~! ALSO FOR APP PREPPING, WILL HAVE TO REWATCH THE WHOLE SERIES. ALL THREE SEASONS. MARATHOOOON.
& the cons: WILL POSSIBLY NEVER GET ANY CAST EVER. This isn't like a huge downside for me but playing her without Wallace or Keith is just sad. I don't even care about shipping her with anyone. NEEDS THE BFF AND THE BEST DAD EVER. Also she's a character I can be easily consumed by. I would seriously obsess over playing her and I worry that it'll take away from my other characters.
& maintenance: Girl detective. Enough said. IN UR BUSINESS, CHARGING RATES FOR MYSTERY-SOLVIN'.
& the verdict: Definitely. Likely at discedo? YEAH OKAY NO NEEDZ NEW GAME.
KOUICHI AIZAWA :: NABARI NO OU
That fact that everything dies is what makes life so powerful. Even so, I wonder why humans pursue "eternity".& the 411: On the surface, token series megane-kun. Layer 1: Polite, intelligent, almost aggressively enthusiastic. Layer 2: kickass ninja. TERMINAL DOGMA: RUTHLESS SEXY IMMORTAL NOT-RLY-HUMAN.
& why i want to app: I WOULD TAP HIM SO HARD ALL GLASSES WITHIN A HUNDRED MILE RADIUS WOULD FOG UP AND THEN BREAK. O wait that is not an actual reason for apping. Well, not a reason stemming from a fangirl's libido. Lol obvious app pattern/ping is obvious. I guess I'm really into characters that play roles or take on masks and the combination here for Kouichi is really fascinating to me? Secretly ruthless megane... not new. Immortal wishing for death. NOT NEW. But the way it's all come together in Kouichi pings me sososohard. I think it's because despite his ruthlessness, it doesn't automatically translate to him being evil. Maybe it's his efficient GET IT DONE THIS IS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN attitude in contrast with Thobari-sensei's somewhat more seemingly idealistic wish to not harm innocents etc. Maybe it's how despite it all HE'S STILL TOPPED SO HARD BY RAIMEI. I think getting into his head would be pretty interesting.
& the pros: Amiable, boyish character would be easy to get out and about even without castmates. Playing with the levels of his personality, badass ninja-ness. Also I'm such a hooker for Nabari no Ou it's not even funny. If playing him somewhere will get people interested in the series... YES I WILL DO IT ARE YOU KIDDING I'M ALREADY THERE.
& the cons: I CAN'T THINK OF ANY.
& maintenance: Kind of depends on the game I play him in? Would definitely be better off in a plot-driven one rather than a freeform one especially if I app him without a Miharu who basically has what he wants/needs (the Shinrabanshou). But y'know. Immortal ninja.
& the verdict: Yet another definitely. Possibly also at discedo or Shini&Qing's game. also LOL millefiorewarts.
SHEILA / MAOU-SAMA :: SUPERIOR
I believed that causing fear was the only way to show your strength.& the 411: The feared Maou-sama of the demons. Violent, likes taking people's heads, has declared war on humans. Meets the hero elected by the humans to kill her, disguises herself as a weak demon to earn his trust and kill him at an unguarded moment and ends up falling in love with him.
& why i want to app: BAMF and yet also adorably clueless. (LOL WHAT'S A WALLET? SOMETHING YOU CAN EAT?) Now the premise isn't like groundbreakingly unique but all the same it's beautifully executed. The way Exa's actions influence Sheila and allow her to discover humanity... it's a very interesting and possibly tragic journey because. HOW CAN IT END WELL? Despite his ULTIMATE GOOD GUY OF ULTIMATE DESTINY thing, she is the one person he has sworn to kill.
& the pros: Uhhhhh she's actually like one of the few people I'm apping with the intention of apping with someone. And yeah that whole DISCOVERING HUMANITY thing? I would LIKE TO TRY THAT. I haven't played anyone like willfully destructive in a while and huh even then I'm apping someone who is trying to rein that in for Exa's sake so that internal conflict? Also sexy.
& the cons: Hard to play without knowing an Exa will come around.
& maintenance: Needs an Exa.
& the verdict: Pending a quick check with Fainn to see whether the plan to app is still a go? Will end up at rivelata or whatever game Fainn wants.
LUNA LOVEGOOD :: HARRY POTTER
Some people call me 'Loony' Lovegood, actually.& the 411: Needs no introduction. No c'mon really.
& why i want to app: Favorite HP character though I've never actually tried to play her before in a multifandom setting. And I love her unabashed eccentricities and her... acceptance of who she is and how she's regarded by other people because of it. Well acceptance of the latter because she has no internal conflict at all about her personality. She just IS. And I love playing the quirky and eccentric types. Also LOL RETURN TO THE FANDOM THAT ATE ME.
& the pros: FAMILIAR FANDOM AND CANON IS FAMILIAR. And playing a character so much in harmony with herself would add a welcome change to my line-up heh.
& the cons: ...GIGANTIC NITPICKER'S DREAM CANON IS GIGANTIC AND NITPICKER'S DREAM-...Y.
& maintenance: She could talk about anything. Seriously.
& the verdict: Only one I don't actually have a game in mind for?
