Caretakers
Sunday night, we went to dinner with some friends who have a 7 year old girl, L, with cerebal palsey. Ant feels very protective of her, and "Looks after" her. She, conversely, feels protective of Ant (because he is only 5) and looks after him!
For example, they held hands walking into the restaurant. It was pretty clear that each thought s/he was making sure the other was safe crossing the road...
Also, while in the restaurant, L's dad, T, asked her to eat more of her hot dog. Ant said "hey, T, let me take care of this" (complete with hand motion). Now, L, you need to eat your hot dog."
And she DID!
