If God is omniscent, then it is impossible to disappoint or fail God. God has always known where we would faulter and fall short, so technically that language is not useful to Christian theology.

Then again, a lot of Christian theology requires a degree of double-think.

It just makes me think that on some level this is comforting, but also makes me wonder how to re-word prayers...
