"Punching aliens and fucking green chicks; that's how I know he's fucking James T. Kirk"

Just saw Star Trek and I was pretty pleased overall with it. Sure, the villain was hella lame(he and his crew looked NOTHING like Romulans), the Vulcans seemed overly emotional, and the ice planet scenes felt kinda pointless, but otherwise it was great. Beautiful visuals(LOL ABRAMS LENSE FLARE!), a surprising amount of genuine humor, realistic character development, and an explanation that allows all of these events that seem incongruous with the standard Trek timeline to make sense(SPOILER: this now an alternate timeline). Though I'm still wondering how, since most of the time the Trek universe works on cyclical time travel, the TNG crew will travel back and time and help Zefram Cochran launch the first warp-capable ship since, now, this timeline is different and they probably wont exist in the same form, if at all. Whoops, sorry, my nerd is showing.
