Bears?!
We've been told by a neighbor that they drove past the driveway at dawn several days ago, scaring off a black bear.
I am hoping that it was just passing through to another part of the national forest nearby and not just setting up housekeeping somewhere close.
IIRC, This is the time of year young adult bears are driven out of their mother's territory to make their own.
I will be keeping a close eye out since we have many good, fattening things on the hoof for a bear to build itself up for winter on, and Black Bears have the least fear of humans.
