I'm ENGAGED!!!
In 2 weeks of being with John, I wanted to be with John. I basically moved in with him within 3 months after hanging out. The funnier part of the story is that I could be with a guy 5 years and not want to live with him at any point of the story. In addition to that, my whole view about marriage is all different. Previous to John, I really did not want to get married. I thought it was a silly notion, why would I want to take that guy's last name? I think, maybe, it was because I knew in my heart that he was not "the one". Now, I am uber excited about the thought of marriage and all that family stuff to go with it. In a year I went from feeling numb to being excited.
In the last year I have realized so many things...
If everybody wants to be retarded and immature over the past, good for them. I am uber happy with John and being his fiance.I use to feel bad, but you know I DID NOT DO ANYTHING WRONG. What is wrong with dumping somebody because you felt like nothing was going right? I could expand this idea, but why? He is a good person, but he wasn't for me.
My piece of advice... DON'T STAY IN A RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE YOU THINK IT IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD DO, RATHER STAY IN A RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE YOU WANT TO! Don't stay in one because you think 5 years is a long time to go and break up. Don't stay in one because you feel bad for the other person. DON'T stay in one because you think most of your friends are going to hate you and take the other person's side.
Be in a relationship because the other person makes you better. Be in one because you look up to that person. Be in one because you really love that person. Be in one because the other person can make you smile when you really don't want to smile. Be in one because he loves the thing that you love 2nd most. And if you had to pick him or the thing you love 2nd most, you would definitely pick him -- hands down. Pick the one that cuddles with you, even though he wouldn't admit that to his friends. Or the one who will save you when you go into the snowbank. Or the one that would dance with you in Target. Stay in a relationship because you know in your heart, that when you get old and wrinkly that he will be the one right there by your side making fun of both of your wrinkles :)
I love John, and everything about him. I am so excited about everything that is going to happen in our future! The ring is very pretty. He suprised me with it on our one year anniversary at Villa. He gave it to the waitress and had her put it in my ice cream. :) I said YES!, of course.
