Wow, I'm a TANK!!!!!!

So after not running since friday, having project grad (and staying up all night), barfing the morning after project grad and sleeping (therefore not going to practice the day before States, Part 3), and tapering for 3 weeks because of rain delays on the State Meet I RAN A 2:37.41 800m!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so amazed with myself.  My personal best for the season had been a 2:43 and my personal best overall (which was from last year) was a 2:40.  I CRUSHED my personal best!! I don't even know how I did it!!  But Dexter and Libby were both estatic.  I was too busy trying to walk with amazing amounts of lactic acid in my legs right after but I was feeling good about my time.  I ran my first lap in 78 seconds which was 2 seconds faster than I was "supposed" to (meaning I needed to be around 80 but 78 wasn't to fast) but I came back in 79 which was amazing.  I didn't even feel that tired after my first lap (or as tired as I usually do running an 82) and knew it was going to be my last 800 ever so I just went for it.  I started to pass the girls that had gotten me on the first lap and was chasing down the leader (who turned out to run a 2:36).  I realized that she wasn't slowing down on her last 100 but I was going to stay as close to her as possible.  My goal for the second lap was to run under 88 (which equals out to a 2:48 with an 80 for the first lap) but when I saw the clock as I was almost to the finish line I saw it read 2:32 and I just thought "nahh it's just off" and/or "I'm going to run a 2:42 or something...I'm not close enough to get 2:40).........but apparently, I was wrong!!

Okay so that was probably WAY more info than anyone wanted to read about but it's mostly for my benefit so :-P!!! hehe

PS: I'm going to camp for the first time this year for the weekend.  I think it may be slightly boring...we shall see.

track, camp
