Well, I've had this LJ for quite some time, and I finally have something to say in it :-)
As some of you know, Karen and I went on holiday to Crete for the last week. I may post more on that later, however...
Cockerels...
You know - the male equivalent to a hen...
Stereotypically they crow at dawn...
Well, we learned that this is not the case. They crow whenever they damn well feel like it. They hold conversations over miles at 3 a.m. and it seems that they are more often awake at night than during the day.
I counted at least four cockerels within hearing distance of our apartment and we were just glad Nat wasn't along, as she would have tried to have a conversation with them :-P
