Autumn is definitely here. Today a cool wind blows with a whiff of something wintery, -yellow leaves flies through the air, covers the ground and reminds me that I need to dig out warmer clothes and shoes in the attic. Ordering a huge pile of wood is on the agenda too. It´s also time for fårikål(trad.norw. lamb and cabbage-stew), candlelights, and ( Read more... )

Hah, its 85 degrees here, a return of summer and it's gonna be over 90 later this week.....

Oh i wish I was one of your relatives on your xmas list! I love hand made stuff like that, knitted stuff and craft stuff.
I used to do that for ppl and kill myself and my family is such a bunch of assholes I quit. They wanted to exchange gifts and draw names and wanted to have a limit of NO LESS that $75 bucks spent PER PERSON and as a couple you had to draw 2 names!!
now I never have that much to spend on my whole family and bills and so on...isn't that sickening? and they treated me like shit causeI said "thats too much for us"...now others with less moneyhave decided they can't afford it,Hah! When i did that it was because I was an asshole....LOL
I don't bother with them anymore..this yr I will likely spend some time with my nephews and niece who are nice to us and say fuck the rest of them.
makes xmas ever so much more relaxing that way.

what sort of craft stuff do you do with the pine cones?
here they have these craft camps some ppl I know go to, they stay a weekend andmake differant stuff.
I'd love to go with schlaggy and see what she came up with!
maybe I will send her piney cones and glue and have her make my xmas gifts for me this yr!
*imagines little pinecone Tills*
hey thats a good xmas tree decoration, LOL...this yr I hope make the barbie head decorations we have always wanted to...one yr we put the skeleton lights from halloween on the tree....it looked cool!

I know what you mean about some people having rather high expectations when it comes to gifts. Especially kids these days always wish for stuff that´s impossible for most people to give if you´re not filthy rich. Like mobile-phones, mp3-players etc. Luckily I come from a big family with lots of kids, and there was never a question about high priced gifts. We´re simply too many, and you´re supposed to afford to live during the season also.

My kids and I have been making x-mas-presents since they were small, and it´s enjoyable to do as well as recieve, far as I´ve heard. I collect things I find in nature, or go to fleamarkets and stores for used crap to look for things I can either redecorate or take apart to use for other stuff. It´s fun too. I´ve just been lazy the last months LOL

I´ve mostly made big wreaths for indoor/outdoor use from the pinecones. They can be combined with nuts, other types of cones, paint, ribbons, gold and/or silver decorations, glitter...whatever you have at hand.

Barbie head decorations?? LOL Now, That I wish to see...
