Day 2

Dec 19, 2004 00:04

OK...a brief synopsis...not for YOU, but for my own recollection later. And because it is midnight in London and I've been "home" for hours. Gotta love being the only one in an six person apartment under the age of 55.

Yesterday....after a million hours on a plane next to a delightful british twentysomething man (he was gay, don't get too excited for me), I arrived to pouring rain and had to carry my HUGE suitcases down the busy streets of cars going the opposite way I am accustomed to. Yes my hair got soaked, yes my makeup ran down my face, yes i stepped in numerous puddles in my designer jeans.

Other things that happened that day include seeing "the sights" such as Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, several cathedrals and monuments, the Aquarium from the movie "closer", regent/oxford/bond street shopping. Yes I dragged my aunt into diesel, ben sherman, zara, all saints, lambretta, etc. If I see one more person wearing a Burberry knockoff scarf I'm going to strangle them with it.

Todays activities included a trip to the largest open market I've ever seen. Fruits and vegetables I've never heard of, covent garden, more shopping, lester square, more of the tube and the double decker buses. Oh, and I saw "stomp" tonight. And the predominant language spoken in my apartment is French. Que lastima (yes i know thats spanish). Lets not forget about more rain.
