Okay, Jim first.
One of the things I love about his relationship with Jim, in canon and in camp <3, is the dichotomy. He's older and (veeeery arguably) wiser than Jim in *some* ways, and sure as hell doesn't just roll over and do what Jim tells him. He's seen Jim as a bratty arrogant cadet. He's seen Jim as a womaniser (one of the better types of womaniser, obviously; his aim is for the woman to have at least as much fun as he's having, and he's always truthful about the level of commitment he's offering
