Headcanon is that Kururu loosens up a little bit around people she considers friends, and that only those people are allowed to have any physical contact with her! She only gives those privileges to like four people total. Mikage is one of them! HE IS A GOOD FRIEND.

Kururu doesn't reciprocate Mikage's crush but she indulges it because she thinks it's good for him! She actually does indulge him a lot in comparison to how she treats other people. She sees him as more of a younger cousin/sibling/student figure than anything--she wants to encourage him and see him safe and GROWN UP RIGHT and she will teach him what she can in her tsun capacity. Their relationship is also good for her; canon may joss me on this but I don't think Kururu has much contact with other Fyulong at all and on that front she was unconsciously very lonely.

Her relationship with dragon Mikage is different from her relationship with human Mikage because she sees them as two different people. Like--obviously she gets that they're the same person, but they are two different lives and no one has ever seen a being who comines two lifetimes in a body like Mikage does and it's odd. Unsettling! But she can roll with it. She finds human Mikage pleasant enough but she is not as...close to him as she is to dragon Mikage because she doesn't know him as well idk if that makes sense.
