Have you ever regretted a wish you made? Why/what happened?
Once when he was a kid, he wished his father would come back. A year later he showed up and they were both a year older, and Toby soon regretted it, because he hated the way his father yelled.
Once when he was married he and Andrea were angry at each other and he wished he could just run from his marriage as fast as possible. By the time she left him, and the divorce papers came, he regretted even thinking of it - because then he was just an angry, middle aged man with an empty bed and no one to turn out the light when he fell asleep reading.
The one thing he could never, ever regret, from the minute he set eyes on them, are his children. They are the only things he ever really got right in his life.
