Goodbye, Illinois!
Hi everybody! A lot of you will probably get this more than once, and I apologize in advance as I hit everybody over the next few days. Some few people already know it, but I am going to be moving out of the Chicago area. In fact, out of the state, and really the region. I'll be moving to Stillwater, Oklahoma.
I've seen the same look on a lot of faces, so I'll just imagine it on yours here, and hear your sweet, sweet voice asking "why". The easy reason is that Amanda is going to go for graduate/doctoral study at OSU. Beyond that, I'm pretty fed up with a lot of things having lived in this area pretty much my entire life, and have been wanting to get out, try living somewhere new for awhile.
We're still settling the details, but will be moving sometime in mid to late July, likely between the 15th and 20th. I'll be keeping updates on Facebook/gchat/LJ/etc for those who are interested, and of course would be happy to hear from anyone via email or phone or whatever. I'll be back for visits, holidays, conventions and possibly even for work, and will advertise loudly these events. Of course, if you find cause or need to hit northern Oklahoma, you know a guy - that's all I'm sayin'.
That's pretty much it. really. I'm going to miss the hell out of the lot of you; to crib from an old favorite: I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
