Upper Canada

At 5 pm today summer camp will be half over. Its wonderful.. I mean its wonderful fun being at camp but in many ways its an experience akin to birthing a child... the real joy is the sense of accomplishment felt after its over. Have had 3 job interviews for the fall so far. Did not get any of the jobs. Am proud of the fact that I got interviews really... I've never supply taught (in a school) a day in my life so to roll straight into a full time contract would be a bit insane (but Im sure as hell gonna keep on trying). I talked to the principal from the french immersion kindergarten job in Smiths falls yesterday and she said it was one of the toughest calls shes ever made, with a lot of soul searching and hashing it out with another principal. What it came down to was that the other chick had done a 6 month LTO in a french immersion kdg... hey... I would have given her the job too! But she asked if I would be interested in a part time contract like a .50, or a .70. And I said Hells yes. I mean it would have to be worth it (as I'd have to buy a car, and there'd be a commute) but I'm at least 100% certain I want to be considered for them, and then she said that she is going to check my references and recommend me to a bunch of principals she knows are looking and having a hard time finding good french teachers. Which is very nice of her.

If I don't get a contract with Upper Canada, thats pretty cool too because it means I get to spend my fall trying to find as much supply work as possible but likely having a few days off a week to run, go to the gym, organize, relax, take another Additional Qualifications, meditate, go to the Soo for a couple of weeks, etc.

Every possible future is a glorious gift!!!!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I've also got my run back. After a month and a half long hiatus (or more?) I went for three early morning runs this week. I'm gonna go tomorrow too. SRSLY. I started working full time in March and gained 12 lbs almost immediately. Much respect for those who have mastered the work/exercise balance. Its a toughy. The situation is exacerbated when you find your work stressful, come home, and fall head long into self-medicating/soothing binge eating. mmmmmmmm binge.

But now I've got my run back, and my French course is over and so far I got three A's, and I will be back to my old self again in no time!

Much love,
